New exhibition celebrates the strength of people swept into poverty

A new photography exhibition from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation aims to re-frame the picture of people locked in poverty and build a better public understanding of the variety of issues facing people on low incomes.

Picture Britain: Our People, Our Poverty

Features a collection of over 20 portraits, including the Beats Bus’s Steve Arnott, taken by award-winning photographer Jillian Edelstein, with stories captured by Stephen Armstrong.

See the exhibition for free at Borough Market, 20 February – 7 March and touring the UK thereafter.
